WikiMapia is a Web 2.0 project to describe the whole planet Earth. It was created by Alexandre Koriakine and Evgeniy Saveliev, inspired by Google maps and Wikipedia.

So that means that you yourself can make description (or just copy them from wikipedia) for an interesting place. For example, I, myself, made them for my city. You can even use these description in Google Earth.
